Class Notes

Magnuson Athletic Club: Tuesday & Thursday 7:00am
All classes are suitable for absolute beginners and all levels are welcome.
In the first half of class we’ll work vigorously to get the energy flowing. Then static poses and end with simple relaxation or mindful breathwork. The usual sequence for the static poses is, backbends, twists, forward bends and shoulderstand.
I use flow and movement (vinyāsa) in class, and combine it with correct alignment in poses. My teacher was BKS.Iyengar whose focus was always alignment.
The images I post are mostly myself or Mr Iyengar. His pictures are from the 1960’s. The pictures often show the full pose. In class, I’ll suggest accessible versions.
